Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was seen crying on 30 May 2026 after the Rajasthan Royals lost the IPL 2026 Qualifier 2 to Gujarat Titans. You can see the disappointment in his face.
He had posted 96 runs in that match, taking Rajasthan to a total of 214. The innings featured his 72 sixes of the season, a strike rate of 237.31 and an average of 48.5 over 776 runs.
This isn’t the first time his campaign has ended in heartbreak. In the previous four matches he missed a hundred three times, including a 93 against Lucknow, a 97 against Hyderabad and another 96 against Gujarat. He became the youngest player to surpass 700 runs and 1,000 runs in the fewest deliveries.
After the defeat he walked off without shaking hands with the Titans players and sat in the dugout covering his face with his cap, his eyes still wet. Senior teammate Raviinder Jadeja tried to calm him, but the emotion lingered.
