A tragic incident took place in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra on Wednesday evening. A structure built at the entry gate of Siddharth Garden collapsed, killing two people and injuring two others. This accident is said to have happened due to strong winds and rain. According to the police, further action will be taken after the Municipal Corporation files a complaint.
Compensation of Rs 5 lakh will be given to the families of the deceased
A compensation of Rs 5 lakh has been announced for the families of the deceased. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Police Commissioner Praveen Pawar told reporters, ‘When any municipal corporation official gives a written complaint regarding the Siddhartha Garden accident, then we will register an FIR and take action against the concerned people.’
Special inspection of weak buildings will be done.
Municipal Commissioner G. Srikant said, ‘A structure built at the entry gate near Siddharth Garden collapsed, due to which two people standing there died on the spot and two people were injured. The injured are being treated in the government hospital. We have informed the concerned authorities about filing an FIR. The families of the deceased will be given a compensation of Rs 5 lakh. Not only this structure, but other weak buildings will also be specially inspected and its audit will be completed in the next 7 days. After that it will be decided whether to allow entry into the garden or not.’
Woman injured due to falling tree
Meanwhile, in another incident, a woman was seriously injured when a tree fell in Bhagat Singh Nagar. On this, the Municipal Commissioner said, ‘A tree fell due to strong winds in Bhagat Singh Nagar, due to which a woman was seriously injured. She is undergoing treatment in a private hospital.’
