In a surprising turn, Maharashtra Chief Minister Fadnavis said an AIMIM leader was instrumental in keeping Nida Khan hidden during the high‑profile Nasic TCS case.
The statement came after police announced the arrest of Nida Khan, who has been a key figure in the investigation surrounding alleged irregularities linked to the TCS project in Nasic.
According to the CM, the leader from the All India Majlis‑e‑Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) allegedly provided shelter to Khan, helping her evade law‑enforcement agencies for weeks.
“We have evidence that an AIMIM leader was involved in concealing her location,” Fadnavis told reporters on 9 May 2026. “This is not just a criminal matter; it has political overtones that need to be examined thoroughly.”
The police, meanwhile, confirmed that Nida Khan was apprehended on Thursday night after a coordinated operation. They said the arrest was the result of “intelligence inputs” that pinpointed her whereabouts, without specifying whether the alleged AIMIM involvement played a direct role.
Opposition parties have reacted sharply. The AIMIM spokesperson denied any involvement, calling the CM’s remarks “baseless and politically motivated.” The spokesperson added that the party would cooperate with any legitimate inquiry but warned against using the case for partisan gain.
