Ranveer Singh’s star‑studded film Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar, opened in Indian cinemas on 19 March. Two months after its theatrical release, the makers had planned an OTT launch.
The movie had already been released globally on Netflix, excluding India. Fans were told that Jio Hotstar would stream the film in India, with a tentative window from 15 to 16 May. However, the platform never confirmed the release date.
Now, the release is pushed back. The official Jio Hotstar premiere will be on 4 June 2026, with streaming beginning on 5 June. The delay is attributed to the ongoing IPL 2026, which is set to conclude on 31 May.
According to box office reports, Dhurandhar 2 has earned ₹1,847 crore worldwide, surpassing the ₹1,300 crore haul of the first film. It has become the second highest‑earning Indian film to date.
The cast includes Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arun Madhav, Sara Arjun, Arjun‑Ram Pal, and Rakesh Bedi. The film will be available in a raw, uncut version on Jio Hotstar.
Indian viewers now have to wait a little longer for the full experience, as the streaming platform aligns the release with the conclusion of India’s most popular cricket league.
