CBSE Denies Fake Circular, Keeps Re‑evaluation Process Unchanged

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has blasted a circulating fake notice that incorrectly claimed it had cancelled the re‑evaluation and photocopy request process for the 2026 board examinations.
The doctored document, dated 23 May 2026, stated that the board had abandoned the process because of “unprecedented technical challenges” in its online system. CBSE quickly responded, calling the notice a hoax and urging students and parents to rely only on official communication.
CBSE warned that all updates about results and post‑result procedures would be available exclusively on its official website and verified platforms. It reaffirmed that every legitimate concern regarding scanned answer sheets and re‑evaluation would be handled through the prescribed review mechanism.
After the results were released, CBSE’s portal experienced heavy traffic as lakhs of students accessed it simultaneously to request scanned answer books and verification services. This led to temporary slowdowns, payment delays and issues in downloading copies.
To alleviate the pressure, CBSE has extended the deadline for submitting scanned answer book requests to 24 May 2026 and stated that the system has been upgraded to cope with high demand.
The board reiterated its commitment to transparency, fairness and the protection of students’ academic interests. All valid grievances will be examined by subject experts through the official process.
