An Air India flight from Mumbai to Lucknow was suddenly cancelled on Wednesday. The flight had to be cancelled due to diversion after heavy rains in Delhi.
Air India will reduce its international flights of large aircraft by 15 per cent till mid-July. In a statement, the Tata Group-owned airline said that as an additional precaution, it will increase security checks on large Boeing 777 aircraft. Air India has recently faced operational problems. At least 83 international flights of Air India have been cancelled in the last six days. The statement issued by the airline company said that engineering staff and pilots are taking necessary precautions.
Meanwhile, Air India cancelled three of its international flights on Wednesday due to maintenance and technical reasons. Two of these flights were cancelled after the passengers had boarded the plane. The airline has said that it had to cancel its Toronto-Delhi flight AI 188 of June 18 as per the norms set for maintenance and operations. After the flight was cancelled, the passengers already on board the plane were disembarked. Apart from this, flight AI 996 from Dubai to Delhi was cancelled due to technical reasons.
The plane returned to Delhi mid-way
The passengers were deboarded after boarding the plane. At the same time, keeping security in mind, flight AI 2145 from Delhi was also canceled after the news of volcanic eruption near Bali airport. It was advised to return to Delhi mid-way. The plane returned safely to Delhi. All the passengers were deboarded here. Air India has said that alternative arrangements are being made to take the passengers to their destination as soon as possible. Full refund has also been offered to the passengers. It is worth noting that after the Ahmedabad plane crash, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had ordered to increase the surveillance of Air India’s Boeing 787 fleet.
Mumbai-Lucknow Air India flight suddenly cancelled
Air India flight from Mumbai to Lucknow was suddenly cancelled on Wednesday. This flight had to be cancelled due to diversion after heavy rain in Delhi. On the other hand, Kolkata-Lucknow Indigo flight 6E-856 was delayed by half an hour, Lucknow-Delhi Air India flight AI-2478 was delayed by about 1:15 hours, AI-2461 from Lucknow was delayed by 1:30 hours, AI-811 was delayed by one hour.
