Big news! Apple clashed with Donald Trump for India, took an extreme stance on iPhone production

US President Trump made a statement on Apple’s manufacturing in India, but Apple did not change its investment plans. The Indian electronics industry is full of confidence.

US President Donald Trump’s statement on Apple’s increased manufacturing in India is being discussed across the country. Trump’s statement is being given little importance by India, and a major update is coming out. According to a report by CNBC-TV18 quoting government sources, Apple has reaffirmed its commitment to using India as a major manufacturing hub.

Sources said that there has been no change in Apple’s investment plans in India. The company has assured the Indian government that it will continue its operations despite Trump’s statement.

Speaking at an event in Doha, Trump said that he had spoken directly to Apple CEO Tim Cook and advised Apple not to increase production in India. But he added that if it was only for the Indian market, then it would be fine.

According to Bloomberg, on May 15, at a business event in Doha, Qatar, Trump said, “I told Apple CEO Tim Cook that you don’t need to manufacture in India, they can take care of themselves.” Trump also said that Apple will increase its production in the United States. He said that Apple will increase its production in the United States.

He also said that India has offered to completely waive tariffs on US imports. Speaking at a gathering of business leaders in Doha, he said, “India has offered us a deal. In which they are ready to charge us virtually any tariff.”

Speaking on this, Rajo Goyal, general secretary of the Electronic Industries Association of India (ELCINA), said, “This may cause some delay, but I really don’t think it will have much impact on India. Apple’s share in the global market is still very small.”

“India is in a very strong position in electronics manufacturing. We should not be discouraged by this… I am sure Donald Trump can change his stance,” he added.

India has become a key part of Apple’s global supply chain. Contract manufacturers like Foxconn and Pegatron have significantly expanded their operations under India’s Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, and Apple’s iPhone exports from India hit a record high last year.
