Ladki Bahin Yojana: The Maharashtra government has taken a significant decision regarding the Ladki Bahin Yojana. This decision has brought a wave of joy among women in the state. The deadline for e-KYC for the Chief Minister’s Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana has been extended. The government had previously set November 18th as the deadline for completing this task. However, due to technical issues, more than 11 million women were unable to complete their eKYC. Now, the Maharashtra government has extended the deadline to December 31st, 2025. Consequently, women in the state will be able to complete their e-KYC until the end of the year.
Aditi Tatkare, the state’s Women and Child Development Minister and MLA from the Shrivardhan constituency, stated in a post on Instagram that under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, the Majhi Ladki Behen Yojana is running successfully across the state. Previously, all beneficiaries were instructed to complete e-KYC by November 18, 2025. This deadline has now been extended to December 31, 2025.
Why was the e-KYC deadline extended?
Tatkare wrote on Twitter that recently, our state faced many challenges, including a natural disaster. I am aware that many eligible women have not been able to complete the e-KYC process for the “Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Behen Yojana” on time. Recognizing these challenges, the state government has taken an important decision. The e-KYC deadline for the Ladki Behen Yojana has been extended to December 31st.
Major Changes in the Ladki Behen Yojana
According to the new system, women whose husbands or fathers are no longer alive, or who are divorced, will have to complete their own e-KYC. They will also need to submit a certified copy of their husband’s or father’s death certificate, divorce certificate, or a court order to the office of the Women and Child Development Officer in their district. The government states that this decision will ensure continuity and stability in the benefits of the scheme.
