Ladki Bahin Yojana: There’s good news for beneficiaries of Maharashtra’s Ladki Bahin Yojana . For the past few days, there has been a sense of fear among beneficiaries that this financial assistance from the government might be discontinued.
However, Maharashtra Minister Narhari Zirwal has now assured that the Chief Minister’s Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana will not be canceled under any circumstances. He made this statement at an NCP rally in Dahanu, Palghar district, where hundreds of Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (SP) workers joined the Shinde-Pawar faction’s NCP.
Narhari Jhirwal stated that the scheme will continue as long as Ajit Pawar, leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction), remains the state’s Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister. He also praised Ajit Pawar.
The scheme amount can be Rs 5,000
Narhari Jhirwal further stated that this scheme is being implemented to empower women with self-reliance, and that an increase in the amount will be considered if necessary. He indicated that if conditions improve, the government may increase the financial assistance to women to 5,000. He also clarified that there is no intention to discontinue the scheme, as its direct benefits are reaching millions of women.
What is Ladki Behen Yojana?
The Ladki Behen Yojana is a social welfare scheme of the Maharashtra government, aimed at economically empowering women aged 21 to 65 in the state. Under this scheme, financial assistance of ₹1,500 is provided each month. Some rules of this scheme have been changed to prevent fraudulent women from taking advantage of this scheme. According to the new rules, women will now be required to complete the KYC of their husband or spouse for this scheme.
