Maharashtra News: A sex racket has been busted at Pramila Bar and Restaurant in Mumbai. Hotel manager Nishikant Sahu and owner Vasant Chandrashekhar Shetty have been arrested.

A major scandal has come to light in Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra. Mumbai Police raided the Pramila Bar and Restaurant on RC Marg in Chembur and busted a major sex racket. Prostitution was thriving under the guise of a bar and restaurant. Police arrested the bar manager, owner, and a customer, while rescuing eight women.

The operation was carried out based on a tip-off received by the RCF Police Station. Police had received information that Pramila Bar was providing sexual services under the guise of a bar. A joint team from both police stations laid a trap.

A fake customer was sent to the bar. Manager Nishikant Sadanand Sahu offered the fake customer sex for ₹1,000. The fake customer agreed and was taken to the first floor of the bar. There, he ordered a drink. A female bartender arrived and began behaving inappropriately.

Meanwhile, the police raided the bar. During the raid, a 41-year-old woman from Ambedkar Nagar, Mankhurd, was caught red-handed accepting money from a fake customer. A total of eight adult women were found working at the bar, engaging in prostitution. These women hail from areas such as Chembur, Tilak Nagar, Mankhurd, and Ulhasnagar in Mumbai. The women were immediately evacuated to a safe place and provided counseling.

During interrogation, the women said they were forced into the sex trade by acquaintances involved in prostitution in their areas. They revealed that manager Nishikant Sahu introduced them to bar owner Vasant Chandrashekhar Shetty, who was running the racket. The manager and owner confessed to running the racket.

The arrested customer is also facing interrogation. RCF police registered a case under Section 370 (human trafficking) of the Indian Penal Code and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. A senior official said this action is significant in curbing illegal activities. Police are investigating other rackets involved in this trade.
