Maharashtra Hindi Compulsory: MNS chief Raj Thackeray said that Hindi is just a state language, not a national language. Do not teach all this to new children. Whatever language he has to learn, he will understand it when he grows up.

Hindi Compulsory In Maharashtra: Devendra Fadnavis government of Maharashtra has issued an order to make Hindi a compulsory third language for students from class 1 to 5 in schools. This created a big political uproar on Wednesday (18 June).

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray said that the Maharashtra government has taken a strict decision to make Hindi compulsory from class 1 to 5, I had written a letter on 17 June not to do so. Hindi is not a national language.

I am sending a letter to the school principal – Raj Thackeray

Raj Thackeray said, “Today I am sending a letter to the principals of all the schools in the state. The CM had told me that we are withdrawing the decision of making Hindi compulsory, due to which I had written this letter 5 days ago which I am now sending to the school principals.”

He said that Hindi is only a state language, not a national language. Do not teach all this to new children. He will understand the language he has to learn when he grows up. Is there pressure from the IAS lobby? So why is there pressure for a third language here?

Which third language will be taught in UP – Raj Thackeray

Raj Thackeray said, “Which third language will be taught in Uttar Pradesh. The Education Minister is saying, if this is an optional language, then keep it from 6th, why do you have to do it from 1st. This is the state language, so why are you imposing this language? Will Marathi be taught as the third language in UP, Bihar and MP? Hindi is not compulsory even in Gujarat.”

What is the order of the Maharashtra government?

According to the order of the Maharashtra government, all students from 1st to 5th class in Marathi and English medium schools will now compulsorily study Hindi as the third language. The number of students who want to learn any other language as an alternative to Hindi should be more than 20.
