E-KYC has been made mandatory for beneficiaries of the Chief Minister’s My Girlfriend Scheme in Maharashtra. Approximately two months have been allotted to complete the process. The Maharashtra Women and Child Development Ministry stated that the cabinet made this decision. Beneficiaries must complete their e-KYC in June each year.
The Maharashtra government has made electronic know-your-customer (e-KYC) verification mandatory for all beneficiaries of the Chief Minister’s Ladki Bahin Yojana (Maharashtra Ladki Bahin Yojana eyc) and has given them a two-month deadline to complete the process. Following this, thousands of beneficiaries have begun completing their eKYC. Meanwhile, news has emerged that several fake websites have become operational for eKYC. Therefore, if you are completing eKYC for the Ladli Bahin Yojana, be alert. Fake websites can empty your account.
Officials have advised that eKYC should be performed only on the government’s official website, https://ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in/ekyc. Officials have also advised against using Google to perform eKYC.
Be alert to fake websites.
When you search for the Maharashtra Ladki Bahin Yojana (ekyc) website on Google, you’ll find https://hubcomut.in/. There are other similar fake websites. If someone accidentally visits these websites and completes their KYC, their account details will be transferred to someone else. This could result in money being withdrawn from their account and they could become victims of cyber fraud.
The minister said, “Know your KYC should be done only on the official website.” The Ladli Behan Scheme, launched in July 2024, provides monthly financial assistance of ₹1,500 to women aged 21 to 65 whose annual household income does not exceed ₹2.5 lakh. Announcing the new requirement, Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare said that the e-KYC facility is now available on the official portal, ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in. She urged beneficiaries to complete the verification process within the stipulated time, calling it simple, convenient, and essential for transparency.
Two months given
According to Tatkare, digital verification will not only ensure that benefits continue to reach eligible women but will also help facilitate access to other government schemes in the future. The government order further states that women must complete their Aadhaar-based authentication within two months to continue receiving financial assistance directly into their bank accounts. Failure to do so will result in the suspension of benefits.
Verification to be done every year
The minister explained that verification will be done every year. This decision was taken by the government after finding approximately 26.34 lakh ineligible beneficiaries. These ineligible beneficiaries included men who were availing of the Ladli Behen Yojana. Currently, approximately 2.25 crore women are registered under this program. By tightening the verification process, the state government aims to prevent leakages and ensure that public funds reach only those who are truly eligible for assistance.
