Maharashtra News: A cab driver molested a 22-year-old student in Mumbai’s Vakola cab. The police caught the accused through CCTV and technical investigation.

Mumbai Crime News: A case of molestation of a 22-year-old student in a cab has come to light in Vakola area of ​​Mumbai. Police have arrested 29-year-old cab driver Anish Ashiq Ali Shaikh. A case has been registered against him under the relevant section of the Indian Justice Code (BNS).

The incident took place when the student was traveling in a cab from Prabhat Colony to Golibar Naka. During the journey, the accused touched her inappropriately, which scared her. The mentally disturbed student told her family about this a few days after the incident. After this, the family took the victim to Vakola police station and lodged a complaint.

Accused traced from CCTV footage

The police took the complaint seriously and started investigation. The accused did not have a permanent address, so it was difficult to catch him. But CCTV footage of the places mentioned by the victim was scanned, and with the help of technical information, the accused was arrested from Jogeshwari area of ​​Mumbai. The police is investigating this matter with full seriousness.

Let us tell you, another similar incident has come to light where 23-year-old Uber driver Shreyansh Pandey was arrested for allegedly molesting a 14-year-old girl during a trip from Dadar to Powai. The accused named Shreyansh Pandey continued to stare at the girl throughout the journey, took several different routes instead of the regular route to go to her house, tried to touch her on the pretext of looking at her phone, kept asking her if she wanted a cigarette.

Even stopped at a deserted place claiming that the car had broken down. The girl’s family approached the police. Based on their complaint, the police registered a case against the driver under sections 75 (sexual harassment) and 79 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the BNS and section 12 (punishment for sexual harassment) of the POCSO Act.
