Security has been beefed up in the coastal area after a suspicious boat was spotted near the Revdanda coast in Maharashtra’s Raigad district. A police official said on Sunday that the boat was seen about two nautical miles (about 3.7 km) off the Korlai coast of Revdanda. He said that prima facie it seems that the boat has markings of some other country and it may have drifted towards the Raigad coast.
After the alert, teams of Raigad Police, Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), Quick Response Team (QRT), Navy and Coast Guard reached the spot. The official said that Raigad Superintendent of Police Aanchal Dalal has reached the coast along with senior police officers to monitor the situation. However, due to heavy rains and strong winds, there was difficulty in reaching the boat.
The official said that Aanchal Dalal herself tried to go to that suspicious boat in a small boat, but had to return due to bad weather. He said that a large number of police forces have been deployed in the area and security has been increased in the district as a precaution.
Fire breaks out at truck terminal in Navi Mumbai
A fire broke out at a truck terminal in Turbhe area of ​​Navi Mumbai. A huge explosion took place at the spot due to the fire. A police officer said on Sunday that due to the fire, huge fireballs and black smoke were seen in the sky. Police and fire brigade teams reached the spot to douse the fire. However, no one has been reported injured yet. Police said that the fire broke out at around 11:15 pm. The place is part of a government bus depot named MSRTC, where trucks are temporarily parked. At least two to three vehicles were damaged in the fire. The officer said that the work of extinguishing the fire is still going on.
