Saif Ali Khan enemy property: Pakistan collection of property in the name of actor Saif Ali Khan has come to light. The Modi government has taken major action on this property.

Actor Saif Ali Khan is the Nawab of Pataudi. Saif Ali Khan, who owns Pataudi Palace, has three more properties in his name. However, those three properties have now been declared as enemy properties. According to the Home Ministry report, all these three properties have been declared as enemy property. These include properties worth crores in Bhopal, Sehore and Raisen.

Action taken because of relatives who went to Pakistan?
The Ministry of Home Affairs’ Enemy Property Protection (CEPI) department has stated in a letter dated May 8, 2025 that Nawab Hamidullah Khan’s daughters Abida and Aftab Begum are Pakistani citizens. Therefore, action is being taken against the properties in their names. Saif Ali Khan is the heir of Nawab Hamidullah Khan, so his name has come forward in this case.

550 acres of land in enemy property?
Social activist Amitabh Agnihotri had filed a complaint in this regard. As per his demand, the original copy of the 1949 merger agreement has been sought from the Nawab family. If this copy is not provided, the relevant properties will be confiscated, Agnihotri said.

How many enemy properties are there in India?
According to the information submitted by Mala Srivastava in the High Court, about 550 acres of land in Bhopal and its vicinity were in the name of the Nawab family. According to the data of the Ministry of Home Affairs, there are currently 12,983 enemy properties in India. The highest number of these properties are in Uttar Pradesh (5,688) and West Bengal (4,354). All these properties are under the control of the CEPI department.

What exactly is enemy property?
Enemy property refers to the property in the name of citizens who migrated from India to Pakistan or China and remained in India. The government took possession of these properties under the ‘Enemy Property Act’ of 1968. These properties were kept under the supervision of CEPI.

In 2017, the Act was amended to clarify that none of their heirs living in India have any rights over this property. Nor will they be given any compensation.
