Traffic Alert: Krishna Janmashtami is being celebrated across the country today i.e. on 16 August 2025. In view of the preparations for Dahi Handi, the police has issued a traffic advisory.

Traffic Alert 2025: A grand festival of Dahi Handi will be celebrated in Maharashtra. Keeping this event in mind, Thane Police has made traffic changes in Kapurbawadi subdivision today i.e. on 16th August. These changes will come into effect from 11 pm on 16th August. Passengers are advised to take a good look at the traffic advisory before planning their journey, so that any kind of inconvenience can be avoided. Let us tell you that the festival of Dahi Handi is celebrated on a large scale across Maharashtra. A large number of people participate in it.

In view of the Dahi Handi festival, traffic will be affected on many roads. Entry will be prohibited on Kolset Road, Ram Maruti Road, Pipeline Road and routes going from Balkum Naka, Dadlani Chowk and Yashasvinagar. Alternative routes will be clearly marked for the commuters. According to officials, the Dahi Handi event will be attended by 40,000-50,000 devotees along with leaders of major political parties.

Advisory also issued for Navi Mumbai
Meanwhile, the Navi Mumbai Traffic Police has also issued a traffic advisory and no-parking order in Kharghar from August 15 to 17 due to Krishna Janmashtami celebrations. The order will be in force near the ISKCON temple in Sector 23. To maintain smooth traffic, DCP (traffic) Tirupati Kakade has banned the entry of vehicles except police and essential services. The ban will be in force on the route from Central Park Service Road to Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company. Motorists coming from Hiranandani signal are advised to use alternative routes of Utsav Chowk, Gram Vikas Bhavan Chowk and Green Heritage Circle to reach Central Park Service Road.

Heavy rain has already made the situation miserable

Let us tell you that many parts of Maharashtra are receiving torrential rains these days. Mumbai and its surrounding areas have been receiving heavy rains since Friday night. The situation is already bad due to this. Traffic system has also been affected due to large scale waterlogging. The Indian Meteorological Department has also issued an alert of heavy to very heavy rains. People have been advised to stay indoors.
