Indrans Shares Memorable Moment Working With Vijay and Shankar

Malayalam actor Indrans recently opened up about his experience on the sets of Nanban. The film, which features superstar Suriya in the lead, saw the actor cast in a small yet memorable role.
During an interview with the YouTube channel Cineulagam, Indrans talked about getting the chance to work alongside Vijay, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and film star. He described the meeting as a special moment, saying it felt like a blessing given his background from a smaller industry.
“I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to meet Vijay. I had a scene in Nanban. There was a scene where everyone was sitting together with Sathyaraj sir, and Vijay sir was also there,” Indrans said. “He is an actor who is known and loved by everyone in our country.”
The actor went on to highlight how meeting a star of Vijay’s stature was particularly meaningful. “It was a huge crew. But the set was extremely quiet, very silent. Sir would come near us, explain everything very calmly, and then leave,” he added. He expressed that for someone coming from a “small industry” to meet Vijay felt like a divine blessing.
Indrans also spoke about filmmaker Shankar and his desire to work in one of the director’s projects. He recalled that Shankar had noticed his work during a period when he was primarily involved in comedy films. “I always wanted to act in a film directed by Shankar sir. He noticed me. During that time, I was mostly doing comedy films. I was also doing serious roles, but he called me after seeing my comedy performances,” the actor said.
He added that his comedic style and voice suited Shankar’s filmmaking approach, mentioning that Shankar had watched Three Idiots, a comedy film, and was impressed by Indrans’s voice during dubbing.
Meanwhile, the film Karuppu continues its theatrical run, receiving positive audience feedback. Indrans’s remarks have added a new layer of interest to the film’s run and to his burgeoning reputation in the industry.
