Finn Allen turned the match around completely. The Kiwi opener smoked an unbeaten 100 runs in just 47 balls — his maiden IPL hundred. That basically sealed it for Kolkata Knight Riders against Delhi Capitals.
Chasing 143, KKR made it look easy. Allen did most of the heavy hitting. Cameron Green gave good company too, scoring 37 runs. Their partnership — 116 runs in 64 balls for the third wicket — that really hurt DC.
Earlier, Delhi Capitals got bundled out for just 142 runs in their first innings. Batting collapsed, plain and simple.
“We will plan for the next year,” said DC skipper Axar Patel after the defeat. Not much else to add from his side really.
The win gives KKR 2 crucial points. DC will have to go back to the drawing board.
