Dhurandhar 2 OTT release delayed by IPL 2026, Jio Hotstar June 5
The blockbuster Ranveer Singh film Dhurandhar 2, released in cinemas on 19 March, is now set to stream on Jio Hotstar on 5 June, a postponement prompted by the 2026 IPL schedule.
Dhurandhar 2, the Ranveer Singh‑starrer that opened in theatres on 19 March, will now premiere on Jio Hotstar on 5 June after a delay due to the 2026 IPL. The film, already available on Netflix worldwide, is now set to launch in India with a raw, uncut version.

Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh, premiered in Indian cinemas on 19 March. Two months after its theatrical run, the film was slated for an OTT release. Although already available on Netflix worldwide, the film was originally meant to stream on Jio Hotstar in India.
However, the release on Jio Hotstar has been postponed. The streaming platform had initially planned to start streaming the film between 15 – 16 May, but later did not confirm a date. The film will now enter the Indian market on Jio Hotstar 20 days after the IPL final.
The primary reason for the hold is the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL), which concludes on 31 May. The makers fear the film could be lost amidst the cricket craze. With IPL generating massive viewership and Jio Hotstar attracting huge numbers, the delay is meant to avoid competition.
After the IPL ends, Dhurandhar 2 will have its grand premiere on Jio Hotstar on 4 June and become available for streaming from 5 June in an uncut, raw format.
Globally, Dhurandhar 2 has earned ₹1,847 crore at the box office, surpassing the ₹1,300 crore haul of its predecessor. It has become the second highest‑earning Indian film. The cast includes Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Armaan Malik, Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, and Rakesh Bedi.
