Dhurandhar 2 OTT Release Delayed on JioHotstar Due to IPL 2026
The much‑anticipated OTT launch of Ranveer Singh’s “Dhurandhar 2” on JioHotstar is postponed because of IPL 2026, with a new streaming date set for 4 June 2026.
The film’s online debut has been pushed back. IPL 2026 is the main reason for the delay.

Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh, hit theatres on 19 March 2026. About two months later the movie is being prepared for an OTT launch.
The film is already available on Netflix worldwide, except in India. Originally, the plan was to stream it on JioHotstar. That plan hit a snag – the release date was halted.
Initially, “Dhurandhar 2 – The Revenge” was slated for streaming on JioHotstar between 15‑16 May 2026. However, the platform had not confirmed the exact date. Meanwhile, Netflix released the film internationally, leaving India out.
Now the movie will appear on JioHotstar 20 days after the IPL 2026 final. The reason? The massive craze for IPL in India. Broadcasters fear the film could get lost amid the cricket frenzy.
IPL 2026 is set to end on 31 May 2026. After that, JioHotstar will host a grand premiere of “Dhurandhar 2” on 4 June 2026, with the stream starting on 5 June 2026. The release will feature a raw, uncut version.
Box‑office data shows “Dhurandhar 2” has earned ₹1,847 crore worldwide, surpassing the 2025 original which made ₹1,300 crore. This makes it the second‑highest‑grossing Indian film.
Alongside Ranveer Singh, the cast includes Sanjay Dutt, A.R. Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal and Rakesh Bedi.
