Yash praises Geetu Mohandas’ fresh emotional layers in “Toxic” film
KGF star Yash lauds director Geetu Mohandas for adding nuanced emotional depth and strong women characters to the upcoming gangster drama “Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown‑Ups”.

KGF lead Yash recently talked to Variety about his next project, “Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown‑Ups”. The actor said the film’s emotional texture has been shaped by director Geetu Mohandas.
According to Yash, Mohandas approaches emotions, relationships and conflicts in a “layered and nuanced” way. He believes this fresh perspective could become the movie’s biggest strength, adding depth beyond the usual commercial spectacle.
Yash explained that a woman’s point of view often spots different feelings and details. “We see life differently. There’s always a different point of view when women look at things,” he said. He felt that this “refreshing, layered and deep” outlook changed the tone of several scenes.
He also stressed that “Toxic” will not rely solely on action‑heavy moments. The narrative is expected to balance human emotions, relationships and personal conflicts with the larger gangster backdrop.
On the female characters, Yash noted they are far from being passive side‑kicks. “There’s a different set of politics, a different kind of violence involved with every human being,” he said, adding that the film features “really badass women who have taken responsibility for their lives and survive in any situation.”
The ensemble cast includes Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth, alongside Yash.
Yash hinted that the movie aims for a global impact, positioning the “female gaze” as a key element of its storytelling.
