Dhurandhar 2 OTT Release Delayed to Avoid Overlap with IPL 2026
Dhurandhar 2’s Jio Hotstar launch is postponed until 5 June 2026 to avoid clashing with IPL 2026 Finals, after its global Netflix release.

Ranveer Singh’s film Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar, hit cinema screens on 19 March 2026. Two months later, the film became available on Netflix worldwide, except in India. The original plan was to stream it on Jio Hotstar in India.
However, the release date on the Indian platform has been put on hold. The new schedule now places the release on 20 days after the IPL 2026 finals, which wrap up on 31 May 2026. The film will have a grand premiere on 4 June 2026 and start streaming from 5 June. It will be shown in a raw and uncut version.
The main reason for the delay is the huge popularity of the IPL in India. Producers fear that the film could lose audience attention if it releases during the intense cricket season, especially when Jio Hotstar already enjoys massive viewership for the tournament.
Financially, Dhurandhar 2 has already grossed ₹1,847 crore worldwide, eclipsing the ₹1,300 crore earned by the first film in the series. It has thus become the second highest‑earning Indian film after the original Dhurandhar. The cast includes Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal and Rakesh Bedi.
