Under the Maharashtra government’s popular scheme, Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, financial assistance of ₹1,500 every month is being sent directly to the bank accounts of eligible women so far. The 11th installment was distributed between June 25 and 30 in June 2025, providing relief to lakhs of women. Now the government’s preparations for the 12th installment of the scheme have been completed.
State Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar told the media that the amount of the 12th installment will also be transferred to the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries in the first or second week of July 2025. Women who did not receive the 11th installment of June due to technical or eligibility reasons will be given double the amount, i.e. ₹3,000, in July. This will ensure that no eligible woman is deprived of the scheme.
Why do some women not get assistance?
Although the scheme aims to promote economic empowerment of more and more women, eligibility conditions have prevented payments to some beneficiaries. To avail benefits under the scheme, the woman should be between 21 and 65 years of age and her family annual income should not exceed ₹2.5 lakh.
Apart from this, if any member in the family is a government employee, income tax payer or has a four-wheeler, then in such a situation the woman is not considered eligible for this scheme. Also, it is mandatory to link the bank account with Aadhaar. Women whose eligibility was found incomplete during the verification did not get the previous installments, but now they will be given the amount for both June and July together.
Can there be a delay in the July installment?
In the last few months, payments have been relatively timely, but since there are chances of a double installment in July – that is, the amount of June and July can be given together – in such a situation, delay is also possible in some cases. This situation was also seen earlier when the installments of May and June were transferred together. As per the information available right now, the amount will be sent in the first week of July, but those who get the amount late in their account are likely to get two installments together.
How to check the status of payment?
If you want to know whether the money has come to your account or not, you can check the SMS sent by the bank or get the bank passbook updated. Apart from this, information can be obtained by logging in to the official website of the scheme or ‘Nari Shakti’ mobile app and going to the “Payment Status” section. Help can also be taken from Gram Panchayat or CSC Center.
What will be new in the coming months?
The scheme was started in July 2024 with a monthly assistance of ₹ 1,500. Now the government is working on making the scheme even stronger. According to the information, this amount can be permanently increased by ₹ 1,500 from October 2025, which will provide more financial support to women.
In addition, ‘Micro Loan Scheme’ can also be started soon with the support of the Central Government, so that women can start small businesses and become self-reliant.
