Maharashtra Diwali Bonus Announcement: Great news has arrived in Maharashtra ahead of Diwali. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced a bonus for employees of the BMC, Thane, and Navi Mumbai. Employees in Mumbai will receive a Diwali bonus of ₹31,000.

Ahead of Diwali, the Maharashtra government has announced a festive bonus for state employees. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced a festival bonus for municipal corporation employees in Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai. Shinde directed that the bonus amount be immediately credited to employees’ accounts so they can celebrate the festival with joy.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) administration confirmed that BMC officers and employees will receive a bonus of ₹31,000 this year. Meanwhile, Thane employees will receive a bonus of ₹24,500, and Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation employees will receive a bonus of ₹34,500. This move is considered to boost employee morale and strengthen their trust in the government.

Who will receive how much bonus?
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner and Administrator Bhushan Gagrani has announced the bonus distribution for Diwali 2025. Under this, –

  • Municipal Corporation Officers/Employees: ₹31,000
  • Teachers/Non-Teaching Staff of Aided Private Primary Schools: ₹31,000
  • Teaching Staff of Municipal Primary Schools: ₹31,000
  • Secondary School Teachers/Non-Teaching Staff (Aided/Unaided): ₹31,000
  • Teachers/School Lecturers/Non-Teaching Staff: ₹31,000
  • Teachers/School Education Volunteers (Full-time): ₹31,000
  • Social Health Volunteers (CHVs): ₹14,000
  • Kindergarten Teachers/Assistants: ₹5,000

Good news for Thane and Navi Mumbai employees
Along with Mumbai, municipal corporation employees in Thane and Navi Mumbai will also receive a Diwali bonus. A bonus of ₹24,500 has been announced for employees in Thane, while a bonus of ₹34,500 has been announced for employees in Navi Mumbai. The state government stated that this decision was taken in recognition of the employees’ hard work and service.

Government extends best wishes
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar extended Diwali greetings to all municipal corporation officials and employees. They stated that the state government stands with all categories of employees and will continue to take steps for their welfare.
