According to Alok Jain, Head of Hindi & English Entertainment Business at JioStar, JioHotstar is already “India’s home for unscripted programming”. He added that the platform constantly experiments with formats – from talent shows to relationship dramas – and now they’re trying this new follow‑reality angle.
He also pointed out that Bhojpuri entertainment is a vibrant force from the Hindi heartland. The idea is to showcase its scale, emotion and authenticity to a broader Indian audience – not just Bhojpuri speakers.
The makers dropped a teaser on social media that read something like, “Jab baat ho Bhojpuri heart aur thaath ki, toh Bawaal guaranteed hai… #BhojpuriBawaal coming soon on @JioHotstar and @colorstv.”
“Bhojpuri Bawaal” will stream exclusively on JioHotstar and will also be broadcast on Colors TV. As of now, the exact launch date hasn’t been announced.
