
UPI Service closed: Due to technical improvements, SBI’s UPI service will be closed from 12:15 pm to 1:00 am on May 7, 2025. Customers are advised to transact using UPI Lite.
SBI is the largest government bank, from students to the elderly, SBI has crores of customers. So this is big news for these customers. Customers will not be able to make UPI payments. You may have to face UPI service down or server down while making payment. The bank has also given the reason behind the closure of UPI service.
In this context, the bank has also said that customers should withdraw money or make payment in advance. State Bank of India (SBI) has given important information to its customers. Due to planned technical upgrades, SBI’s UPI service will be closed for some time from 12:15 am to 1:00 am (IST) on May 07, 2025.
SBI has said in an official statement that regular UPI transactions will not be possible during this period. However, customers will be able to continue transacting using “UPI Lite”. So, if you want to transfer a small amount during this period, you can make the payment through UPI Lite.

The bank has apologized for this technical upgrade process and has tried to avoid any inconvenience to the customers. Although the service will be disrupted for some time, the bank is confident that after this the transactions will become faster and more secure.
