Dhurandhar 2 OTT Release Delayed on JioHotstar Because of IPL 2026 Finale
The blockbuster Dhurandhar 2, which earned ₹1,847 crore worldwide, faces a JioHotstar OTT postponement due to the IPL 2026 final, with a new grand premiere set for 4 June 2026.

Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh, hit theatres on 19 March 2026. The theatrical run wrapped up and the movie was pre‑pped for an OTT debut about two months later.
Initially, the plan was to stream the film on JioHotstar around 15‑16 May 2026. At that time, JioHotstar hadn’t confirmed the exact release date, though the movie was already available on Netflix for the rest of the world, except India.
Now, the OTT launch is on hold. The reason? IPL 2026. The cricket league’s massive viewership in India means the makers don’t want Dhurandhar 2 to get lost amid the tournament hype.
According to Box Office Worldwide, the film will make its JioHotstar appearance after the IPL final. IPL 2026 ends on 31 May 2026, and the grand premiere on the streaming platform is slated for 4 June 2026. Streaming for the general audience begins on 5 June 2026, with a raw and uncut version offered.
Financially, Dhurandhar 2 has already raked in ₹1,847 crore worldwide. That beats its 2025 predecessor, which earned ₹1,300 crore, making the sequel the second‑highest‑grossing Indian film to date.
The cast also includes Sanjay Dutt, A.R. Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal and Rakesh Bedi, among others.
So, Indian viewers will have to wait a bit longer. The film’s OTT fate is now tied to the cricket calendar, and the next streaming window opens just after the IPL frenzy subsides.
